This trend has been going on since 2015, you’d think that by now we’d all tire of bandanas. But it looks like it’s still going full steam ahead in 2017. Which makes me a happy camper because I’m still bananas for bandanas!
Classic are classic for a reason. You can repeatedly wear them and never get tired of it. Classic strips, classic midi skirt, classic denim shirt, classic heels. Sometimes you need to go with the classics so you can get out the door.
I’m heading to Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo for the long weekend to go camping with some friends! Packing is a pain. Sometimes I love doing it because I know I’m about to go somewhere amazing and taking the time to smartly pack will make the trip that much more awesome. Other times I’m so over it, I don’t want to think about all the little things I have to pack but inevitably forget to. Packing for camping is one of those times where I think it’s a big pain. Especially because I’m the one with most of the camping gear down to the tent and have to remember to pack it while the rest of my friends simply pack their clothes and maybe some hiking gear for the trip.
New Orleans, here I come… after a quick layover in San Diego that is! It feels like I’ve been planning this trip for an extremely long time (probably because I have since I started back in January). So I’m so happy to finally be packed and waiting to board the plane!
I wanted to give a quick share on what’s in my bag and some tips for packing for a destination bachelorette weekend!
I’ve posted about mastering weekend style that can transition from day to night easily before, but I’m still obsessing over how to put together the perfect outfit that requires no second layer or accessory change, achieving a flawless transition from desk to dinner or dusk to dawn. I’m especially intrigued by outfits that can be worn late in the day well into the night.
Spring, spring, spring! We’re heading towards the middle in the swing of spring here. It’s my second favorite season of the year, second only because my allergies are out of control around this time and I’m semi-miserably buried in a mountain of tissues while I try to appreciate all the greenery and flowers in bloom right now. It won’t stop me from spending time outside and soaking up some much needed sun though!
After missing last year’s festival I’m excited to be heading to Indio for Coachella this weekend! I’ve found that having a solid list you can refer to makes packing much easier. Check out what’s in my bag below with a bonus free festival packing list.
Mastering weekend style can seem like style sorcery. Trying to look effortless yet put together isn’t as hard as you think! Sometimes you’re out and about all day long, you don’t have time to change. But going from day to night is as easy starting off with a versatile outfit and changing an outer layer and some accessories.
As I grow older, I’m drawn more and more to classic items. Choosing to add pieces to my wardrobe that I know will look fresh years down the line rather than go for the trendy neon it-piece of the season. I think it’s especially great when I find classics with a twist! Like with tweeds. It started with humble beginning, being made for the working class but is now often associated with the extra posh or stuffy professors who wear tweed jackets but has had several iterations of their version of classic with a twist (Rihanna in 2014 anyone?)
Festival season is right around the corner and I am excited! Dressing for an entire day on your feet and out under the hot sun can be tough. It’s important to dress in layers since temperatures can drastically change from morning to afternoon to night. Here are some layered style inspiration for any festivals that you’re going to!
Go girly with some floral and lace! Juxtapose it with a boyish baseball cap to help save you from the scorching heat.
