I’m not sure if you’d heard, but California was pummeled with rain the past few months. As a native, I was a combination of miserable and happy. All the rain also gave me a better understanding of what it would be like to live somewhere like Seattle. I realize now that I would not be able to cut it there. I need the sun and temperate California weather too much. I’m not sure how I’m going to survive living anywhere else, to be honest.
But all the rain paid off because wildflowers are blooming in the desert and they are spectacular! Last weekend, I went to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve and was blown away by the large swathes of orange, falling more in love with my state and the state flower.
