Now that I have had a chance to go to Coachella during Weekend 1 and Weekend 2, I can see why Weekend 1 always sells out so much faster than Weekend 2.
I’m back from a wonderful weekend away to Indio for Coachella. I thought I’d share with you all five essential festival tips. I’ve only been to Coachella twice now but am no newbie to music festivals in general. Many of the same things apply to all music festivals:
This past weekend I attended the first annual Rock in Rio USA music festival . It’s a two weekend festival with different main acts each weekend. I went the pop weekend and had a blast listening to headliners Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars along with all the other great acts.
Rock in Rio USA is a spin off of the widely popular festival extravaganza in Rio de Janerio. Since this was the first year there were some bumps along the way, but overall the weekend was a blast. I wanted to share some tips and tricks for future festival goers because I couldn’t find anything on these things when I was trying to figure out what to expect for the weekend.
Oh boy, I have festival withdrawals already. Last weekend was so much fun at Outside Lands. I got to see friends I haven’t seen in months and make some new ones while listening to some awesome music.
As a festival newbie I had no idea how to dress or pack for Coachella. I obviously have the internet and can see the street style pics, but I had no idea how to prepare for the hot and cold of desert weather.
There were so many things I was unsure of. Should I bring a hat? What kind of hat? Should I bring a jacket? How cold can it really get? How annoying will it get to hold during the day? How the hell am I suppose to fit all the essentials into my purse? Sunscreen? Do I need a bandana for the sandstorms I hear about?
Oh the dilemma! The good thing is that I wasn’t attempting to camp my first time there. I’m not sure if I would have been able to handle figuring out how that whole setup works.
