Oh boy, I have festival withdrawals already. Last weekend was so much fun at Outside Lands. I got to see friends I haven’t seen in months and make some new ones while listening to some awesome music.
Festival season is still going strong! This weekend I’ll be in San Francisco for the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. I am so incredibly excited to go for the first time and am especially excited to see Ben Howard; he’s one of my all time favorite artists.
I’m a fan of jewelry. I especially love the ones from stores like J.Crew, Madewell and Free People, but sadly I do not have the budget to buy all the ones I want. So I turn to Forever 21 or H&M for similar items. Sometimes I think it’s better to buy the cheap jewelry because I don’t have to worry if I accidentally lose it or break it. It was just a few bucks and didn’t make a big dent in my budget.
However the downfall of the cheap jewelry is how easily they tarnish and can leave my fingers or wrists or whatever body part it comes in contact to green. And the design may look nice, but the metal usually has a cheap sheen.
Last summer I had went to Vietnam with my family for about a month. It was an amazing trip; I learned so much about my parent, my family and my Vietnamese culture. We were in Sa Pa, a quiet mountain town close to the border with China, when I came across a pair of hand embroidered pants. I thought they were the most amazing thing since sliced bread, but didn’t know how they would fit. The market that I found them at wasn’t the kind where you can try clothes on, so I took a leap of faith and bought them anyways.
There’s always that joke about Christmas in July, referring to the stores that start putting out their Christmas displays in the middle of summer. I’ve been seeing stores have their fall and Halloween items out, so I’m sure their Christmas and winter things will be coming soon.
With the holiday season on my mind because of these displays, when I go shopping I’ll see knickknacks here and there that I want to buy as gifts. I like to give gifts just because often, but I was seeing a large amount of things that I wanted to give to people. So I figured I’d just get started on my holiday list early.
Happy National Ice Cream Day! This DIY doesn’t really have anything to do with ice cream because I made some mugs which are usually meant to hold hot beverages or single serve microwave cakes or brownies. But I was planning on posting today and saw that it was ice cream day so I decided to put some cold stuff in a vessel meant to hold hot stuff. I’m such a rebel.
