Dancing in the rain during this El Niño season with some great rain boots! But let’s be honest, it’s more like splashing in the rain for me. After a dry January and February, rain has finally arrived this week. Rubber boots can be hard to walk in because they’re so stiff, shorter ankle boots make it much easier than the standard tall ones.
Leopard print is a classic that people often wear as a neutral now, often making it a part of the background. But I like it when it’s the focus of attention, so here are four ways to wear leopard print. Start off with a classic leopard print sweater!
Have any plans for Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day? Here are some great Valentine’s Day style inspiration for that are perfect for whatever you’re doing that night. Whether that be spending it with your girls or cuddling up with your significant other.
Happy February y’all! Sometimes it’s too hard to figure out what to wear. Make it easy by sticking to neutrals only. I put some neutral combinations together as style inspiration for the rest of the month.
Wearing socks and sandals together is considered a major fashion faux pas, but sometimes I want to wear my sandals in the winter! I get the reasoning behind why some people like to wear socks with sandals though. Sometimes it’s too cold for the sandal alone, but too hot for a full shoe coverage. My only option is to pair some socks and sandals together.
Earlier this month, I went dress shopping with my sister for her wedding dress. We’re both guilty of binge watching Say Yes to the Dress on Netflix, so we had a good idea of what it would be like, but was unprepared for minor details that would have made the whole day smoother. So I thought I’d put together a post that rounds up some great reference articles for others shopping for their big day and as a reference for myself when we have to go shopping again.
California Winter: Fringe Benefits
I know I talk about how great the weather is in California often, but I can’t help it! I’ve lived here my entire life and try not to take it for granted. I’ve traveled to other places and always come back appreciating California that much more after spending some time away from it. Personally, I want to live out of the state for a period of time and explore the world more, but while I’m here I’m going to take full advantage of all California has to give. Which includes the ability for me to be in a dress and not bundled up for Christmas!
I recently watched the documentary about Iris Apfel on Netflix, it’s not new and I’ve heard about her before, but did not know much about her. It was fun to learn about her background before she became the fashion icon that she is and was inspiring to see how much she still works as she’s approaching the century mark. I can only hope that I accomplish as much as she did when I reach her age.
So the Birkenstock sandals have made a comeback a while ago, now the new grandma shoe to be making its way into trend are the Birkenstock clogs. Which makes me happy because these shoes are insanely comfy and give my poor, abused feet a nice break from shoes that pinch. I bought a pair of Birkenstock London clogs last year because I prefer to have backs that allow the shoes to be secured to my feet over clogs that slide on and off.
Unless you naturally embrace this polarizing footwear it can be tough to figure out how to style them. So I figured I’d put together an edition of How Do I Wear This?? focusing on these clogs for the winter. They aren’t so scary after you’ve worn them a few times, I swear!
