Some of my favorite go-to pieces in my closet are my rompers and jumpsuits. They’re no-brainers like dresses, but allow me the extra freedom of knowing I won’t have an accidental Marilyn Monroe moment. Accidentally flashing my underwear when a strong wind goes by is a real concern when living in the Bay Area.
Ever since I made my DIY version of the Bina Brianca convertible travel wrap I’ve been a little obsessed with making other convertible pieces like the DIY convertible blanket wrap. This time I made a few different versions of a DIY convertible bracelet choker; wear it as a choker necklace or a wrap bracelet! Be on the lookout for a second version I’ll be sharing later this month. Sign up for email updates so you don’t miss it!
Now that I have had a chance to go to Coachella during Weekend 1 and Weekend 2, I can see why Weekend 1 always sells out so much faster than Weekend 2.
I believe that when spring comes there are two distinct groups of people that emerge. Those who are ready to shed the layers, to show some skin and those who love the coziness of winter layers and don’t want to let it go. My favorite time in this period of transition between winter and spring where the sun is out but the temperatures aren’t quite warm enough to shed all the layers. Spring transitions are when I get to be creative with styling. Read on for some tips for making this transition look effortless!
This trend has been going on since 2015, you’d think that by now we’d all tire of bandanas. But it looks like it’s still going full steam ahead in 2017. Which makes me a happy camper because I’m still bananas for bandanas!
So long summer, hello the season of layers! I’m always excited when the temperatures drop enough to start layering. Any excuse to pull out my trench coat is a happy day for me! I bought it when I was in Spain last year so it makes me extra happy wearing it because it reminds me of my wonderful, life-changing trip and I know I look good making me extra confident in it.
There’s something about wrap tops that are universally flattering. Personally, I believe it’s because these tops are available in a number of versions yet universally highlight or create the illusion of a trimmer waist and an hour glass figure. Bonus is that the bows tied on these tops don’t feel juvenile, but can work for people of all ages.
Classic are classic for a reason. You can repeatedly wear them and never get tired of it. Classic strips, classic midi skirt, classic denim shirt, classic heels. Sometimes you need to go with the classics so you can get out the door.
Hot damn, it’s been a hot start to the summer! I miss my days in schools in San Diego where I had short days and summer break because all I want to do is lounge by the beach and enjoy the ocean waves in the afternoons. Instead of being stuck in an office being sunned by florescent lights and the glow from my computer monitors. To cope with it all, I daydream about what I’d wear for a day on the beach or on a tropical getaway in this hot, hot, heat.
Twinkle, twinkle! Generally, sequin anything is saved for nighttime, but I’m daring you to try wearing it out in broad daylight. I think it’s a similar challenge to wearing formal attire casually (add reference link), it’s all about mixing high and low, shiny and matte to shine through.
