Leopard print is a classic that people often wear as a neutral now, often making it a part of the background. But I like it when it’s the focus of attention, so here are four ways to wear leopard print. Start off with a classic leopard print sweater!
Wearing socks and sandals together is considered a major fashion faux pas, but sometimes I want to wear my sandals in the winter! I get the reasoning behind why some people like to wear socks with sandals though. Sometimes it’s too cold for the sandal alone, but too hot for a full shoe coverage. My only option is to pair some socks and sandals together.
So the Birkenstock sandals have made a comeback a while ago, now the new grandma shoe to be making its way into trend are the Birkenstock clogs. Which makes me happy because these shoes are insanely comfy and give my poor, abused feet a nice break from shoes that pinch. I bought a pair of Birkenstock London clogs last year because I prefer to have backs that allow the shoes to be secured to my feet over clogs that slide on and off.
Unless you naturally embrace this polarizing footwear it can be tough to figure out how to style them. So I figured I’d put together an edition of How Do I Wear This?? focusing on these clogs for the winter. They aren’t so scary after you’ve worn them a few times, I swear!
When I was traveling around Europe I came across this awesome trench vest in Vienna. I didn’t really have the extra space in my bag for it, but I made it work and lugged it around for the rest of the trip because I loved it so much. I never got a chance to wear it because I couldn’t figure out how to style it with my limited wardrobe that I had brought along then.
We are in the thick of festival season. In all the trendy stores there are racks and racks of “festival gear” that is a range of clothing and accessories that are fringed, flowy, cropped, and bohemian inspired. I’m the first person to confess that for some of the clothing items I could not imagine wearing it anywhere but at a festival where short shorts and crop tops and I usually will buy festival specific clothing expecting to only wear it one or two times max.
But that seems like such a waste and unsustainable, so I now try my best to buy clothing that is versatile enough to be worn outside of festivals as well. For those of you struggling to justify buying something that you think you’l only wear once, this post is for you! I’ve styled a couple key pieces that are very typical festival items in the hopes of helping others who may be struggling with outfits to wear IRL (in real life).
Spring is a time when the weather can be strange. In the mornings and evenings it can be chilly, while the afternoons are nice and warm. To dress for that type of weather I will usually turn to spring scarves to help stay warm, but not overheat as the temperature changes throughout the day.
Got your date night outfit for Valentine’s Day all planned out yet? Or planned how you’re going to wear red pink and maybe some purple to work yet? I don’t typically go all out on holidays, but I do like to try to show that I’m celebrating.
In this week’s edition of HDIWT??, I thought I would tackle how to wear colored tights. In the hey-day of Gossip Girl where looking preppy and wearing colored tights was the thing to do, it looked easy to wear colored tights. However, trying to wear them now is a bit tougher, especially when one doesn’t want to look like a Blaire preppy clone.
A major trend this season are blanket scarves. They look so cozy wrapped around everyone’s necks keeping them toasty warm, but another fun way to wear these scarves is to belt them!
The iconic Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots have been on my radar for awhile now, but sadly always out of my price range. This year my friend (who is obsessed with the beauty that is Olivia Palermo and her husband) made me aware of a similar version of the boots that was a fraction of the price at DSW. I for some reason didn’t order it right away like a sane person. Instead I mulled over it and waited until they sold out of the color I wanted, but happily when I was browsing the clearance section of the store I came across them on sale! So I bought them, took them home and was promptly stumped on how to wear them.
