Alright, I’ll admit this is not exactly a complete DIY tutorial. I did make this chambray dress DIY, but I didn’t document it very well. I didn’t want to haphazardly put together incomplete instructions for you all, but I really wanted to share a fun idea you can use the next time you make a top or dress!
So the backstory, I accidentally washed my favorite tee shirt dress with some red sheets the other month and completely ruined it (boo hoo for me). I held onto it because I really love this particular dress and knew I wouldn’t be able to find a similar replacement. I had to search high and low for it in the first place, so I doubted I’d strike gold twice.
Anyways, the idea I wanted to point out is to cut different necklines so you can wear it forwards or backwards. I cut one side scooped neck and the other a v neck! Use your favorite tops as templates or guides to help you cut your own necklines.
This chambray dress is my first attempt at using the ruined dress to to figure out if I could remake it or not. Be on the look out for a version 2.0 in the months to come. It will have complete instructions once I’ve hammered out all the kinks. Sign up for email updates so you don’t miss it!
p.s. Make the necklace I’m wearing here with this easy DIY!
