So long summer, hello the season of layers! I’m always excited when the temperatures drop enough to start layering. Any excuse to pull out my trench coat is a happy day for me! I bought it when I was in Spain last year so it makes me extra happy wearing it because it reminds me of my wonderful, life-changing trip and I know I look good making me extra confident in it.
I love the new shades of olive green that have grown in popularity these past few seasons. They’re moving away from the darker olive tones to a mix of green and yellow, resulting in a range of chartreuse. My personal favorite is the darker end of chartreuse that gives us a brighter, more vibrant color.
One of my go to color combinations is blue, green and white. The entire spectrum of blues, greens and whites go so well together. In the darker shades it feels appropriate for the cooler seasons. In contrast, the bolder, brighter, lighter colors are perfect for spring and summer. But my personal favorite is mixing it all together and coming up with something unexpected. And layering is the perfect time to play around with that. So I’ll say it again, so long summer, I’m ready for you fall!
