Classics on Repeat

Classics on Repeat

Classic are classic for a reason. You can repeatedly wear them and never get tired of it. Classic strips, classic midi skirt, classic denim shirt, classic heels. Sometimes you need to go with the classics so you can get out the door.

Tried and True

Classics are tried and true. Because I’m working on streamlining my wardrobe down to the essentials, I cut out a lot of pieces I don’t deem to be classic.  I worry that it will become boring, but a quick remix of something unexpected keeps it fresh. Instead of finishing the look with a classic cardigan, reach for the denim shirt for a bit of edge. Mixing hard and soft is another tried and true formula.

The best things about classic pieces are the unexpected details that keep them interesting, like the back of these heels. It’s a classic enough that I think they’ll remain timeless, but the lattice work is just interesting enough to keep them from being boring.

Stripes come in different weights and sizes, so it’s easy to find the right one to fit your own personal style. Anything too big might overwhelm me, something too small could be  too busy. Wearing classics on repeat is a delicate balancing act!
