This trendy piece of jewelry has been red hot since spring this year and it’s super easy to make. I’m not sure why anyone would want to buy these when you can salvage the materials from old jewelry and make them over into something fresh like this DIY wrap lariat!
Leather Cord (at least 3 yds or more) | Metal Beads (or really any types of beads you want as long as they have a nice weight to them)
Wrap the leather cord around neck to see what length and look you like most. Try it wrapped around your neck once or twice. Try the ends tied together with a bow or a simple knot. Maybe you like it both ways?
Once you’ve got those tough decisions made, cut the cord to the desired length and attach the beads to the end. The beads act as a weight so that the ends don’t go flying around when you walk around or stand someplace windy.
All done! See how simple that was? Don’t waste money on buying these things when you can easily make your own for almost nothing! And the great thing about making your own is that you can customize it to your liking. Maybe you prefer the feel of suede against your skin, or prefer glass beads over metal. Customize to your heart’s desire!
