DIY Chain Belt

DIY Chain Belt

I was shopping recently as saw an adorable chain belt at American Eagle that I wanted, but didn’t end up getting. I went back a week later, but sadly someone else snatched it up! So I decided to make my own version because I was able to find almost the exact same metal beads at the craft store. The best part is that it ended up being cheaper to make my own DIY chain belt!

Materials:

Flat Nosed Pliers | Round Nose Pliers | Wire Cutters | Metal Beads (at least 7″ long) | Jewelry Chain (2 Sizes) | Jump Rings | Lobster Clasps

Directions:

  1. Cut a 9″ and 3″ section from the smaller jewelry chain, and a 7″ section from the larger chain.
  2. Attach the 7″ section to 3″ section of chain with jump rings.
  3. Attach the metal bead to the chain.
  4. Attach the 9″ section of chain to the other side of the metal beads and cap it off with a lobster clasp to finish!

You can also wear the belt as a necklace making it extra versatile! It is an odd in between length, however, because it’s shorter than the standard long necklace you can buy in stores but longer than a statement bib necklace as well.
