Baby, it’s cold outside! But you can fight that frightful weather with some easy embroidered ear-warmers and gloves. I was inspired by these adorable gloves I came across on Pinterest (my go-to site for DIY inspiration). I’ve done several DIYs with embroidery thread, so had all the materials on hand to spruce up some plain ear-warmers and gloves in a jiffy. These DIY embroidered ear-warmers and gloves will also make great last-minute gifts for someone on your list!
Decide what you want to embroider onto your knits. I suggest keeping it simple if you’re a beginner at embroider or don’t have the patience for something complex (which is me all the way!).
You can choose to freehand your embroidery or use a fabric pencil to sketch it on.
Place your ear-warmer or gloves into the embroidery hoop to create tension across the knit so it’s easier for you to embroider upon. You may be tempted to really stretch it through the hoop, but restrain yourself because once it’s released from the hoop, your design may be distorted once the knit constricts back.
If you’re too lazy to embroider your own set of DIY embroidered ear-warmers and gloves, here are some adorable knit accessories already embellished!
