I’m a planner and love to be organized, Google calendar, the Taasky app and a multitude of other planning tools get me through my day. My love for organization extends to other aspects of my life, including my purses. I often switch purses from week to week and from outfit to outfit. I wanted to make it easier to switch all my things over and keep them organized with a purse organizer. I saw this great one on etsy and thought to try to make my own.
Here’s a quick before and after to help convince you to make your own!
1/4 – 1/2 yd felt – I used black because I thought it would hold up well once it started to get dirty from pen marks, spilled lotion and so on. And it was leftover from my DIY Batman and Robin costumes from Halloween, there was exactly enough to make my organizers.
Sewing Machine + Ruler + Straight Pins + Scissors
Fold in half and sew the two sides.
Box the corners and cut off the excess.
Turn right side out.
Add an outer pocket
Sew the corners to add more structure.
Make a mini version by cutting a 8″x 16″ piece. And a third piece. Fold the longer piece in half with the 7″ x 8″ piece sandwiched in between and sew the two sides.
Box the corners and sew the edges to give it more structure like the larger organizer.
Here is the finished product with the mini DIY purse organizer nestled into the larger organizer.
