DIY Paint Dipped Recycling Bin

DIY Paint Dipped Recycling Bin

A few months ago I had posted a tutorial on how to customize an IKEA bath mat. I’m slowly but surely, making over my bathroom on the cheap with easy DIYs that will take a weekend afternoon max. This month I thought I’d share with you all how I customized a mesh recycling bin I bought from the dollar store the other week to look like it was dipped in paint.

Materials:

Mesh Round WastebasketGold Spray Paint | Masking Tape or Painter’s Tape

Directions:

Use the painter’s tape to block off the area you want to paint.

Tip: Use smaller pieces of tape instead of one large one to block of the area. Because the bin in curved, the tape won’t lay down flat the way you’d want it to.

Spray one to coats of paint. Don’t forget to but the bottom of the bin too.

Let the paint dry. Be patient! You don’t want to bring it back into your bathroom too early and mark up the floor with gold paint like I did. Thankfully I caught it in time and was able to wipe it off before it became a permanent new decoration.

Once the paint is dry, go use your new, chic DIY paint dipped recycling bin!
