eShakti had reached out to me about a month ago asking me to review one of their products. I’ve heard of the site before after seeing a few products on Pinterest, but wasn’t sure if I wanted to pay more for customized clothing tailored to fit me. But given the opportunity to try it out, I jumped at the chance.
eShakti is a clothing company based in India that makes clothing customized to fit each individual’s measurement. When you order an item, you can choose to customize it by adding or removing details and giving your height and other measurements to ensure the item will fit you perfectly.
When I saw that they offered a cape among their clothing selection, I pounced because I’ve wanted one for a while now, but they never quite fit right. Since the items were made to fit each individual I thought it would be perfect.
The ordering was fairly easy, I put in my height and was given the option to choose where I wanted the cape to end (i.e. above my hips, right below, etc.). I didn’t realize that was only the standard options, there was another tab for further customization that I didn’t get an opportunity to try out because I wanted to see how the standard options would turn out.
I received a confirmation email right after I hit submit on my order. About three weeks later I received an email notifying me that the order had shipped. I had some trouble with DHL, the company they used to ship the cape to me, but overall my shopping experience with eShakti was great.
The item I received fit well and was made of a high quality, heavy weight wool/acrylic/polyester blend fabric, however the toggles and faux leather detailing closures were of lower quality and made it look a bit cheap. However those could be easily replaced with a pair from my local craft and fabric store.
I have seen from other reviews of eShakti that there are surprise taxes or fees added on in the end because of the international shipping, so please be vigilant before pressing the confirm button at the end. I’ve also seen the site have frequent sales, so try to wait for one instead of paying full price for their clothes.
