I was inspired by this gorgeous necklace that was sold out on Anthropologie. But I was able to find stones that had the right shape at Jo-Ann to make a similar necklace.
1/8″ Black Leather – I used shoe lace leather.
Cut a 10 inch piece of wire. String one end through a crimp end and wrap it back around itself to secure the crimp end.
String the stone beads and crimp beads, alternating between the two.
Once you’ve reached the end string a second crimp end through the wire and wrap the wire around itself like before. Cut any excess wire. This was take some finagling because of the beads. I found that if I pushed them all onto one end it was easy to wrap the wire.
Cut two eight inch pieces of leather. Attach the crimp ends and stone bib to each piece of leather. Attach additional crimp ends to the other side of the leather.
Attach the lobster claw and jump rings. I had recycled the ends of a broken bracelet for this.
Go wear your new necklace!
