I was bad and didn’t post anything last week because I was busy getting supplies together for my camping trip last weekend. I spent Labor Day Weekend in Yosemite National Park camping at the Hodgdon Meadow campground. It was a fun weekend reunion with friends I haven’t seen in more than half a year. We did several hikes, the longest was to Cloud Rest. The view was beautiful but the seven mile trek back was no bueno.
I’m currently of the mindset to swear off of all long hikes after this, but I’m sure time will dull my memories and I’ll end up doing another one soon enough.
The beginning wasn’t so bad. But that quickly ended.
Then we started going up. These two stayed in the back with me while everyone else sped off. I seriously felt like a grandma because every step I took up got slower and smaller.
But the view made the torture worth it.
I definitely wanted to nap up there for awhile, but we wanted to get back down before it got too hot.
Everyone was joking (or maybe they were serious) about doing Half Dome on our next trip, but I think I’ll just sit that one out. Have you been to Yosemite? What’s your favorite hike to do there? I’d love to hear about it in the comment section below!
