Last weekend I went on a hike with my family after watching the Germany vs. Ghana nail-biter. It was a nice way to unwind after holding my breath for the second half of that game. We tried out a new place called the Land of Medicine Buddha. It’s a meditation and retreat center that has tons of hiking paths that are open to the public during the day.
We took a hike on a very well maintained trail that looped around and had benches sprinkled along the way for people to stop to meditate or take a moment to rest.
We saw Tibetan flags swaying in the wind along the trail and several shrines dedicated to animals. It was great how dog friendly this center was; not many places will allow animals on the trails. All in all, it was a wonderfully peaceful few hours in the afternoon spent with my family.
You might have noticed that my hair is quite a bit shorter than before. I had gone in last week for a trim, but through some miscommunication with the stylist got about eight inches of my hair chopped off. Since there’s nothing I can do about it now I’ve learned to embrace my new hair.
