Memorial Day Weekend, if we weren’t in a pool or out dancing, we were sleeping. It was a rough weekend full of great memories. I sadly wasn’t very good about documenting it. Looking back at my pictures now, most are usable blurry messes.
We found out that MDW is the busiest weekends in Las Vegas. It was really crowded at the day clubs we went to and the areas around the pool became extremely slippery. I got taken down by a guy who slipped getting out of the pool when I was at Drai’s in The Cromwell. Luckily neither of us got seriously hurt or hit our heads. I landed on my hip and was sort of able to break my fall, but it definitely hurt afterward when I tried to sit or lay down. The good news was that I was able to hold on to the drinks I was bringing back from the bar. They had lids on them so that probably helped.
I went with a great mix of people; some were Vegas pros, while others were newbies. I’d say I fall in between because I haven’t been a ton of times, but it’s not my first rodeo either.
The first night was the only one I was able to get good pictures of.
I love her boyfriend in the back. I could’ve cropped him out, but I thought others would enjoy him too.
Aren’t they just the cutest?
I brought my straw hat with my the first day we went to a pool and it got dunked a couple times in the water.
It was also passed around a lot. I definitely recommend bringing sunglasses and hats that you aren’t too attached to because there is a good chance they’ll get ruined or lost. I also recommend a waterproof phone case, leave it in a locker or back at your hotel. People splash. Things happen.
Even though my hat somehow made it through the first day, I didn’t bring my hat the second day and a slightly regretted it. My head was on FIRE! Taking dunks under the water helped, just not for long.
We met tons of people who said they’ve been coming to Las Vegas every Memorial Day Weekend for years. We met one group who have been coming back for nine years straight. Not sure if I could afford, or want, to go so many years in a row, but right now I’m having withdrawals and would definitely want to go back next year.
Until next time ✌
