Weekend Away: Packing for Las Vegas

photo

Next weekend a group of my friends and I will be going to Las Vegas for the long weekend.  I’m excited to lounge by the pool, grub out at the buffets and get dressed up to dance (or gamble) the night away. I’m so excited that I already figured out what I want to wear; hopefully this will help me not over-pack.

Day 1:

We’re driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, which takes about four and half hours, so I want to be in something comfortable and light . The bright colors of the dress always brings a smile to my face.

Shop the look: sundress (similar), cardigan (similar), necklace (similar), ring (similar)

Day 2:

On the first day at the pool, I want to wear my favorite bathing suit.  I love it because it’s so sporty and I feel very comfortable moving around worry free of anything accidentally being exposed.

Shop the look: swimsuit (similar), dress (similar), hat (similar), sandals (similar)

Day 3:

After a night of dancing I’m looking forward to a slow lazy day of eating at a buffet, then lounging by the pool. This romper is perfect because it can hide any food babies after eating and it can show off the cool back of my bathing suit.

Shop the look: swimsuit (similar), romper (similar), necklace (similar), sandals (similar)

Day 4:

If you can’t tell by now, I’m a fan of rompers. We’re driving back to LA this day so I need something that will fit the extra pounds I’ll probably gain from eating badly all weekend.

Shop the look: romper (similar), hat (similar), scarf  (similar), cardigan (similar)

I don’t have a problem with wearing tight bandage dresses and towering heels when going out, I’ve done it before and I’ll probably do it again. My real problem is feeling comfortable in those dresses. They usually ride up when I walk or dance, so I spend half the night pulling it down. This trip I’m determined to pack clothes that are comfortable and more loose.

Night 1:

I bought this Free People Intimate Slip about a year ago, but couldn’t figure out how or where to wear it to until now. I think the sequin will fit right in on the dance floor. Even though these shoes can look intimidating with the giant heel and platform, they’re actually one of my most comfortable pairs of heels.

Shop the look: FP Intimite Slip (similar), necklace,  bracelet (similar), heels (similar)

Night 2:

Typical Vegas attire for women is short, tight dress, so I wanted to switch it up and wear a jumpsuit one of the nights. It might be a pain to go to the restroom that night, but I think it’s worth it.

Shop the look: jumpsuit (similar), necklace (similar), stack of bracelets (similar), heels (similar)

Night 3/Just in case outfits:

Not sure if we’re going out all three nights that we’re there, but it doesn’t hurt to pack an extra outfit or two. My feet always hurt after a few nights in heels, my solution is to pack a cute pair of flats to give my feet a break. If we do go out, my friends can help me decide which outfit to wear. I also couldn’t decide which necklace would go better with the outfit on the left so I’m bringing both… I have a feeling I’m going to over-pack.

Shops the looks:  halter top (similar), hot pants, dress (similar), necklace, bracelet (similar), flats (similar)
