I ordered some jewelry from Forever 21 a few weeks ago and bought some things that I thought looked really cute online, but didn’t turn out so cute in person. Since their return policy is final sale on all jewelry I was stuck with a necklace that I wasn’t very excited about. So I decided to add some DIY magic to it and try to make it into something that I would wear, rather than let it take up space and gather dust at the bottom of my drawer.
Jewelry 4 In 1 Pliers – to take apart the necklace and put it back together
Super Glue – to attach the thread to the necklace
Embroidery Floss – I limited myself to 5 so I wouldn’t buy the whole range of colors available
I took each section of the necklace apart so it would be easier to wrap. I put a little dab or superglue wherever I started and ended a color. Here I’m finishing off the darker green.
It took me about 3 hrs to wrap the entire necklace. I got superglue on my fingers sometimes because I had to hold the thread in place to dry. If I do this again I need to figure out a less messy process of using the glue; maybe use a toothpick or something to hold the thread in place instead.
